About IftarTimes
Our Mission
IftarTimes is dedicated to providing accurate, accessible Iftar and Sehri times for Muslims worldwide during Ramadan. We believe that precise prayer and fasting times should be available to everyone, regardless of their location or technical expertise.
What We Do
We use internationally-recognized Islamic calculation methods and real astronomical data to determine the exact moments of sunset (Iftar) and pre-dawn (Sehri) for your location. Our platform supports millions of Muslims across the globe, helping them observe Ramadan with confidence and precision.
How It Works
1. Location Detection: Simply search for your city or enable GPS to let us know your location.
2. Astronomical Calculations: We calculate the exact moment of sunset and pre-dawn based on your coordinates and the Islamic calendar.
3. Customizable Buffers: Choose from buffer times (+3, +5, or +15 minutes) based on your community's practices.
4. Real-Time Display: See your daily Iftar and Sehri times with live countdown timers.
Calculation Methods
We support multiple internationally-recognized Islamic calculation methods including:
- Muslim World League (MWL): 18° for Fajr, 17° for Isha
- North America (ISNA): 15° for both Fajr and Isha
- Umm Al-Qura (Makkah): 18.5° for Fajr
- Egyptian General Authority: 19.5° for Fajr, 17.5° for Isha
- Karachi: 18° for Fajr, 18° for Isha

Accuracy & Disclaimer
While we use scientifically-recognized calculation methods, local factors such as terrain, weather conditions, and atmospheric effects can cause variations. We strongly recommend confirming times with your local mosque or Islamic authority, as they may follow community-specific practices and traditions.
